TUCSON — June means time off for students, teachers, and other employees of the Catalina Foothills School District. No such luck for the members of the district’s school board, who held its regular twice a month meetings in June.
Although just as important as the meetings held during the school year, these summer meetings often have fewer items on the agenda and thus are shorter than meetings held in August through May.
Discipline Policies
The first June meeting included the boards 5-0 final approval of the district’s discipline policies. This was the second reading of the policy changes, which included minimal changes to the policy since its first reading in May.
Building Rental
The district approved the annual review of the district’s building rental agreement 5-0. This is something that is required by Arizona state statute. This policy includes rental not only of the district’s building but also the district’s sports fields. The fees are based on the utility costs as well as the costs of cleaning the facilities. The district, aware of the possible change in utility processing has made accommodations for the possible rise in utility costs.
